As a word meaning: it means to dislike, hate and dread human nature, the
actions they do. This type of thinking individuals are called mizantropists. Usually
people see the serious damage they do to nature, animals, their own kind and
start to fear, dislike and hate them. This type of people often become suicidal
because of the loneliness or regret they experience. Mizanthropy is
misinterpreted and distorted as a pervasive and individualized hatred of
humans.

This syndrome is more likely to appear in the child if the child receives excessive
psychological blows during childhood. If this syndrome is not treated with a
psychologist, the risk of later suicide is high.

Mizantropists can establish normal and intimate relationships with humans, but
will often be few and far between. They are very selective in determining who to
partner with. This is also where their reluctance is most common, as their point
of view shows a dominant contempt for common human errors and weaknesses
in others and in some cases themselves.

Because of this reluctance, most Mizantropists are often categorized as solitary
people, retreating into seclusion. They don’t usually find an effective role in
society because of their point of view. However, the prospect of adapting to
their culture seems to be foolhardy to them.

German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer, a Mizantropist, says:

“Human existence must be some kind of mistake.” – Arthur Schopenhauer
